A new women-focused iGaming association has officially launched, reinforcing efforts to empower female professionals across the industry. The initiative is powered by Ocean Gaming Consult, a consulting firm operating across Africa and beyond.
Built around the guiding principle “Identify, Mentor, Empower,” the association aims to support women by creating opportunities for professional growth, mentorship, and increased visibility within the broader iGaming ecosystem.
The group plans to collaborate with B2C operators and their performance teams to identify top-performing staff and facilitate their participation in key iGaming events, enabling networking and industry exposure.
In addition, the association will host in-person discussion forums at workplaces and other venues, providing safe spaces for women to share professional challenges and exchange insights.
The initiative will kick off with participation in an upcoming women’s poker tournament in Nairobi later this year, where members will engage and celebrate alongside participants.
The association will also focus on peer mentorship and leadership development, with the goal of supporting career progression and positioning more women for long-term growth within the sector.
The founding team includes Emily Asava, Borah Omary, Maureen Adhiambo, Lola Okulo, Cynthia, Aimee Pacifique Cyuzuzo, and Mary Macharia.
The launch reflects a broader push to strengthen inclusion and representation within the iGaming industry.
